Our Staff

This is our story and how Adventure Awaits Learning Academy came to be.  We are happy to share a little about ourselves with you.
Elizabeth Parks

Elizabeth Parks has always had a life long passion for caring for children.  Being a mother of two children was so rewarding, she loved caring for them.  As children do, they began to grow.  She knew she had so much more to offer, so she began a home daycare.  She helped nurture many little hearts and minds, including Nicole's son Ty.  Her loving bond not only with the children she cared for but their families as well soon made Elizabeth have many new hearts to touch.  Her role as care giver having birthday & holiday parties, being a part of her children's lives on a personal level, and becoming a second mom.  Quickly, Elizabeth or as her day care children call her, "Mrs. Liz" became an important role in her children's and family's lives.  Elizabeth is looking forward to sharing her heart with many other children, and helping them grow in a loving and safe environment.  She has earned her CDA (Child Development Associate) credential and is CLASS Infant and Toddler Observer certified.

Elizabeth is the mother of two children, Jonathan and Gabrielle.  Elizabeth is excited to share her passion for caring for children with the community.   Elizabeth's grandmother has been her guiding light through her life and is so blessed to have her in her life inspiring her.

Nicole Pinell

Nicole Pinell has always wanted to be a teacher before she went to school.  Having a chalkboard in her room, she was constantly teaching her stuffed animals and dolls.   Nicole continued to pursue her dream of being a teacher by attending Nicholls State University.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 2000.  She began her 14 1/2 year teaching career at Bayou Blue Elementary.  There she taught fourth grade and kindergarten.  She enjoyed fourth but was wanting a change, so she became birth to five certified, enabling her to teach children kindergarten.  Nicole became a kindergarten teacher and fell in love.  She loved the age and how much the children enjoyed learning and growing.  Nicole's favorite thing was giving her students the skills to read and write. She also loved the bonds built between her students, their parents, and herself.  Owning a daycare has always been a dream of hers, she can't wait to teach and bond with little ones so eager to learn.

Nicole has been married to her husband, Tony, for over 23 years. She is the mother to three children, Alicia, Maycie, and Ty.  Nicole has been inspired to carry out this dream by her faith in God and by the guidance of her hero and angel, her mother, Evelyn.
